T he Menominee Maroons have had a tough start to their season, but coach Sam Larson is not concerned, or at least he does not show it. Larson, in his second year as the head coach of the Maroons, has a young team — one that relies on its underclassmen to handle most of the workload due to only having two seniors on the roster — so it was clear to him that there would be a learning curve.

Menominee has competed with some good teams in flashes this season but has not been able to pull out a victory since its opening night win over Stephenson, dropping three straight to Peshtigo (WI), Antigo (WI) and North Central. With the lack of success in the wins and losses category, Larson sees his team as a work in progress.
