T he questions, Foster Wonders admits, were annoying.
“Why’d you let them back in the game?”
“How did it end up so close?”
“I know you won, but what went wrong down the stretch?”
The last time Iron Mountain faced Gladstone, for the first game of the season, the Mountaineers built what seemed like a comfy lead before letting the Braves make it close. In the end, they only won by two points.
But the most annoying part was that they had to be asked at all.
So this time, when the Mountaineers got a lead, they kept it, built it, and assuredly dismantled Gladstone 76-49 on Friday in Iron Mountain.
