T he No. 2 Marquette Redmen are a dangerous team when Marius Grazulis is on the floor. With his big frame, Grazulis makes up for a lot of the mistakes that his team makes, whether it be a blown assignment on the defensive perimeter, or a poor shot or pass on offense.
Marquette coach Brad Nelson realizes the benefits that come with having Grazulis, but also realizes that if the Redmen make a deep run, they will run into players that can handle him. For that reason, Nelson rotated many of his guards through the game and went without Grazulis altogether for most of the second quarter en route to Marquette’s 57-42 victory over Houghton Tuesday in Houghton.
