I t starts with a near squat, hands near the side of the ball, held firmly and almost as low as her stomach. Then, with her elbows pointed outwards, Mackenzie Karki elevates and pushes the ball forward. As she releases, her hands point out in the same direction. It’s unorthodox, but it works. Teammates joke about the form of her jumper, and numerous people have told coach Brandon Sager he should fix it.
But again, it works.
“It works, so I’m not changing anything,” Sager said.
