R yan Reichel sits down at the end of the Ishpeming bench, leans back and puts a hand over his heart.
“These damn kids,” he says laughing. “I can’t handle this.”
Then, Jocelynn Nyman calmly steps to the line and swishes two free throws, the perfect signal to her coach that he can relax. Instead, Reichel stands up and throws a fist into the air.
There is certainly cause for celebration, as the free throws clinched a 42-38 win over Calumet — Ishpeming’s first of the season.
