C harlie Gerhard isn’t generally one to take a charge. Need a rebound? He’s got it. How about a block? Gerhard’s your guy. But charges aren’t his thing.
Except against Detroit Edison.
Gerhard took two charges on Edison’s Bryce George, forcing him to sit the bench for long periods of time. In Edison’s quarterfinal win over Flint Beecher, George had 19 points and 17 rebounds, so Gerhard’s neutralization of the post was critical. George finished with just eight points in Iron Mountain’s 60-57 semifinal victory on Thursday at the Breslin Center.
