wen-Trout Creek head coach Jacky Besonen has developed a reputation for her team’s aggressive, defensive games. When teams gameplan for E-TC, the first thing that usually is brought up is the question of how to beat the relentless pressure that is bound to occur, and Lake Linden-Hubbell head coach Bill Rivest was no different in his preparations for Friday night’s contest.
Planning to defeat pressure and actually doing it are two different things, and the Panthers (2-0) pressed early and often before running away with a 54-28 victory in Lake Linden, while utilizing dominant interior play all night.
“Well, we knew we would be playing against a real strong ball club,” Rivest said. “We thought what might rattle us was the pressure, and that is one of those things that we have to grow with. As soon as we got it, we panicked, and that hurt us tonight.”
