Crouch, Erickson reflect on friendship, LL-H-Hurley rivalry

A ndy Crouch felt good the first time his Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes came to play Hurley. It was a Friday night back in 2003, and it was warm enough for him to wear shorts. He told his assistant before kickoff he felt good about his team’s chances. Then, the Lakes taking back the opening kick for a touchdown only reinforced that feeling.

Hurley won 57-12.

And it wasn’t really that close, Crouch remembered this week.

“Never again did I wear shorts or have a good feeling before a game,” he said.

But the night wasn’t a total loss.
