T he significance of coaching at Bark River-Harris is not lost on Marc Zawacki. He grew up here, excelled at sports during his high school career in front of a passionate community, and after college, set out with the goal of returning to live in his hometown. So when he walked off the court following his team’s 58-38 win over Superior Central Thursday in Harris, being congratulated by longtime coach Bill Bower meant more than a simple gesture.
“He really is an icon here in Bark River when it comes to boys basketball,” Zawacki said. “For him to do that, it was pretty special. He’s always open to help and what better source to have to bounce things off of. That was really nice and pretty special.”
