K ody Hendricks scored 15 points, Mitch LeGrave added 12, and Jeffrey Van Holla added 10 as Norway defeated No. 2 Carney-Nadeau 48-38 on Tuesday in Norway.
“Our effort was fantastic,” Norway coach Jeff Gallino said. “They played inspired. We switched up our defenses and guys were flying around. We needed this. The boys were getting down on themselves.
“We took care of the ball better late to seal the win, which is something we have been working on. I hope this gives the team confidence moving forward and we can build off of this.”
Max Baumler had 13 points for C-N, but overall the Wolves struggled to score, and no other player reached double-digits.
“Carney is a very good team that is really well-coached,” Gallino said. “It’s always nerve-racking against that team because they can score so quick. Fortunately for us, they didn’t shoot the ball as well as they usually do.”
Norway outscored C-N 25-13 in the middle two quarters to snap a four-game losing streak.
Norway (5-9) hosts North Dickinson on Friday in a game that was previously scheduled for Dec. 27.
C-N (11-4) goes to Stephenson on the same day.
