2-5 Division 1-3 girls roundup: Negaunee escapes Calumet, Ishpeming beats Gladstone

T he Negaunee Miners escaped a close game with Calumet 46-40, thanks to an 18-point fourth quarter, Tuesday in Negaunee.

The Miners were coming off a 43-39 upset loss at Gladstone last week.

Abby Nelson led the Miners with 19 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter to put things away. MacKenzie Karki added 13 points and scored five in the fourth quarter. She also had three assists and two steals.

Calumet’s Ava Anderson scored 13 points in the loss.

UP NEXT

Negaunee (12-2) hosts Iron Mountain on Thursday.

Calumet (8-8) hosts Escanaba on the same day.
